Six rooms, one pool, a kitchen full of Swahili flavour, and the warm Indian Ocean just down the lane.
Binta House is a small Swahili villa in the heart of Nungwi, on the northern tip of Zanzibar, made for travellers who want to feel the island, not just see it: coral-stone walls and carved wood, the smell of cardamom from the kitchen, the call to prayer drifting over the rooftops at dusk.
Here you're not room number twelve. You're our guest. The dadas will learn how you take your chai, the garden will offer you a shady corner for your book, and by your second morning Nungwi will feel a little bit like home.
Karibu sana!

Seven unhurried minutes on foot to some of Zanzibar's most beautiful water, where the sea stays swimmable through the tides. Prefer to ride? We drive you to the beach and to Kendwa for free.
Our dadas (in Swahili, dada means sister) cook the way their mothers taught them: coconut, lime, fresh fish from the morning boats, spice from the island's farms. Breakfast is included, and dinner is a small celebration.
Only six rooms, a pool in the garden and quiet corners everywhere. Couples come for the calm, friends and families for the bigger rooms, and everyone leaves with a Swahili word or two.
Each room carries the name of a woman, and each has its own character: earthy tones, natural materials, handcrafted details and a bed you won't want to leave.

Cosy, romantic doubles with air conditioning. Made for honeymoons and slow mornings.

Room for a couple and one more, or three friends sharing the adventure.

Our largest rooms, sleeping four, with the island breeze for company.

Mornings start with fresh tropical fruit, warm chapati or mandazi, eggs the way you like them, and Zanzibar coffee or spiced chai. Later in the day, ask for pilau fragrant with cloves, fish in coconut sauce, octopus curry or a plate of mishkaki skewers off the grill.
It's not restaurant food. It's home food, the kind that's made slowly and served with a story.
Watch dhows being built by hand on the beach, swim with turtles, sail into the sunset, or spend a lazy day at Kendwa. We know the boat captains, the spice farmers and the best fish on the coast, and we're happy to set it all up for you.
The sky turns orange, the sails turn gold.
Clear water, bright reef, maybe dolphins.
Cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, straight from the tree.
Carved doors, old markets and a sea of stories.
Stories, recipes and local tips from our corner of Zanzibar: what to eat, how to say thank you, and where the sun sets best.
