Sophia: Our Family Room in Nungwi, Zanzibar
Sophia is the biggest room at Binta House, and the one with the most laughter in it. At 27 m², with a double bed and two single beds, it's made for families and groups of friends who want to stay together: parents in the big bed, kids or friends in the singles, everyone sandy and happy at the end of the day.
Sophia has no air conditioning. Instead it's cooled the old Swahili way, by thick walls and the sea breeze that moves through Nungwi every evening, with a ceiling fan overhead.

A family holiday, Swahili style
Kids love the pool, the garden and the boats on Nungwi beach. Grown-ups love that the beach is a 7-minute walk, that we drive everyone to the beach and to Kendwa for free, and that nobody has to cook. Our dadas make breakfast every morning and happily cook simple, kid-friendly Swahili dishes too.
